The Make WordPress Community Team has provided an update, shedding light on the proposed formats for the 2023 pilot events. The upcoming events are designed to cater to various interests and needs within the WordPress community.

What’s in store for 2023:

  3. Rural: An itinerant event to bring WordPress to rural areas and small towns. The goal is to teach WordPress to local residents and expand the community in rural areas. The event will be held in Catalonia, Spain, with the date to be determined.
  4. WP for Publishers: This one-day event is for those who use WordPress for publishing. The event, to be held in Bengaluru, India, will discuss the most used features and brainstorm about new ones.
  5. Community Day: Scheduled for September 29, 2023, in Roma, Italy, this event is made by WordPress organizers for WordPress organizers. The aim is to train and empower current and aspiring organizers.
  6. Scale-up Workshop: A one-day training event set for October 22, 2023, in Tegal, Indonesia. The workshop aims to enhance WordPress skills, in the world of WordPress for enterprise.

What can we expect?

The essence of these new formats for WordPress events is to enhance accessibility and participation. By introducing low-cost and easy-to-organize options, a rise in event organizers is anticipated.

Moreover, the events are structured into specific categories – learning, leadership, and community. This segmentation ensures each event delivers focused, actionable content, thereby providing greater value to attendees.

The best part? The community is open to new ideas! If you want to organize a pilot event in 2023, submit your idea today.

Getting involved with the WordPress community is a fantastic way to contribute to the open-source project. Whether you’re a seasoned WordPress developer or a beginner just starting, there are plenty of ways to participate.
